Science, Creation & EvolutionAge of the EarthAll you have done is omit any details as to who exactly these "scientists" were and what exactly they did. I've got the wood and tools to make a scale model of what I've seen pictured on creationist websites. And I'm reasonably sure I can make a model that would survive a hurricane such as Katrina. That does not mean I or anyone else can make a wooden ship the size the Ark is purported to have been that would do the same. And it really doesn't matter if it is possible to make such a boat if there never was a global flood to float it in. Assuming God, that Author of the Rocks tells us there never was such a catastrophe. You don't have to read that in the Bible, at best a secondary source. You can read it straight from His earth. Did I say I didn't know anything about shipbuilding? All we need do is look above and we find that your claim here is a distortion of what I said. That is a very common creationist tactic. The late Henry Morris was a master at it. You are not. I at least, have built a watercraft, a highly stable raft which my wife and I occasionally take it out on the beaver pond behind our house and eat our dinner there. I've even had Elaine Marshall out on it. What shipbuilding experience do you have?
IIRC, all his sailing was done on smooth seas. Besides, the Ark was allegedly made of gopher wood. I have no idea what the Biblical author was referring to but I doubt it was either balsa or papyrus. Sure, but steel bracing takes up a lot less room than wood bracing. Ok, try making a barge the size of the alleged Ark with either rope of willow. I'd suggest willow branches make much better sticks for roasting weiners than they do for making Ark-sized boats. Do I have to kill someone to judge a murderer? Of course not, nor do I have to adhere to your beliefs to know something about your kind of Christianity. Rev, ordained September 28, 1996. |
