ArchivedJudging & Testing God??Peace Alpha
Let us read then what the Bible says: “And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. 16 God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night and to separate light from darkness” I’m curious Alpha, when I wrote the greater light was the sun, even though it does not mentions the word sun, then why didn’t you reject it the way you’re rejecting the lesser light being the moon? Could it because I made no argument against the Sun? Alpha since the actual word “moon” is not written, we are left to use our logic to deduce the information. Now since the Bible mentions “the greater light” and “the lesser light” and mentions the stars separately, we therefore come the conclusion that it’s either the sun or the moon that is being referred to. Unless you know of something else that gives us light that is in “the expanse of the sky”. As I have already mentioned, if you go to the Hebrew text the word used is “lamps”. I’m presuming you know that lamps have their own light. So “God” is indicating that the moon has a light of its own for he describes it like a “lamp” Now as I promised some of the other scientific errors in the Bible: (1)“Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it-I give every green plant for food." And it was so.” Did “God” not know that there were poisonous plants which give out deadly seed such as wild berry that if you eat them, there’s a high possibility that one might die? (2)In 1 Chronicles 16:30, it reads that the Earth has been established and that it does not move. Today we know that the earth rotates on its axis and around the sun. (3) In Proverbs 6:6-7, “God” tells us that Ants have no ruler, no overseer, no commanders. However, we have come to know that Ants are sophisticated insects that have chiefs, they have workman and they even have a queen. (4) In Genesis 3:14, we are told that serpents eat dust. No zoological book we ever tell you that serpents eat dust Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
