ArchivedHomosexual AgendaHomosexuality can be totally overcome, or to put it another way a homosexual sexual orientation can be changed totally. I did it and many others who have also. Emotions can change in a heartbeat so basing anything on an emotional response is not a good idea. Psuedo- Christian religions? You apparently don’t much about Islam since gays are more persecuted in Arab nations than in Christian nations. Since you seem to like Animal Planet do you ever watch the Discovery or Civilization channels? I saw a program just last week about transvestites in India and how they are persecuted as perverts. There is an estimated 500,000 such persons living openly as women in India.
The pagan religians seperated them from the main populace to work in the temples much as a nun does now days. Course it was belived they were made that way intentionaly to serve the gods fully without distraction of a mate and children. To a degree that served true.
What gay activist site did you get this off of, and if not a gay site please site a reference. There is on Native American tribe that held the very rare gay man in high esteem since they were thought to be touched by the gods. Pagan religions were an abiding interest of mine for years and I have never read any authorities that would agree with your statement. Since when? I have never met a gay man who lived in depression because of societal rejection. I know many who live in anger because of what they see as persecution. I came out in the 60’s and have never experienced depression or rejection from society mainly because I could have cared less what society thought. The depressed gay men I know are depressed because of the transitory period of their relationships. If you believe that homosexuality is caused by a sex gene, however, there is no empirical evidence for this, however, there is an abundance of anecdotal and psychological evidence the root cause is psychological. Even Dean Hamer the man who started all the “gay gene” media hysteria in a book published in 1994 stated that the presence of a “gay gene” did not predisposition a person to be gay since homosexuality is caused by a multitude of factors including environment, and personality. Have you read any of the peer reviewed research? Hamer was severely criticized by his peers for publishing his findings based on a slanted research universe and Hamer was never able to duplicate his original studies and his “gay gene” theory has been discredited. You can argue your position all you want, I know from experience and from the experiences of many ex-gays that sexual orientation is not set in stone and can be totally changed. It is true that not all who seek change will make it. The many men I know who failed, failed from lack of desire, motivation, and discipline, or unreasonable initial expectations. Ah yes, alcoholism the old standby for a genetic predisposition for an illness of the mind. Alcoholics drink to escape reality or because they are easily addicted to something and choose alcohol over drugs or something else. My father was an alcoholic and was the first and only one in his family as far back as anyone can remember. I am one of five children and none of us have developed an addiction or need to depend on alcohol. An interesting thing about alcoholism is that AA acknowledges that a man with a strong spiritual foundation can walk away from alcohol and never desire another drink. It has even been shown that some former alcoholics can become social drinkers without reverting to abusing it. This is the same position taken by gay theology. However, they have not been able to agree on how to handle a “gay divorce” since the average gay relationship lasts less than 18 months. |
