Heh. I doubt many people would have believed that people 'went too far when they were digging and heard screams from Hell' anyway!
I do believe Hell to exist. There have been testimonies of people who have ended up there and then been warned by Christ that this is not the place for them. Then they have been healed by God and come back to tell people about their experience.
However, people often get confused as to what Hell is. For ages I thought it was this stereotypical fiery place too. Then I realised I was getting it mixed up with the lake of fire.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
So Hell appears to be a prison, not the lake of fire itself. The person I had heard about who ended up in Hell described it as a dark place. No fire, just darkness.
The article addresses some interesting issues, such as "what happened to all the people that sinned before Christ?"
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
It doesn't say God created Hell here. Perhaps God created Hell later?
