Hi On MY Way, you seem to be forgetting that we were 'designed' to eat meat: The position of our eyes (in the front of the face, which allows 3 dimensional vision) is only seen in predators and monkey. Means we have to be one of them (or both).
Furthermore, the length of our intestines corresponds to an omnivorous (both plants and animal) diet. We have canines that we see in carnivorous animals. A lot of people enjoy hunting (remember all the fuss about fox hunting in the UK?). We would not expect this from grazing animals.
All these things seem to suggest that we ARE in part meat eaters, and that we have changed over time. Vegetarian have to COMPENSATE for the lack of meat in their diet. The 'normal' situation for our species includes meat (and fish) now and then. There are even theories that connect eating meat and fish with an increase of intelligence. To put it simply: We might have reached our level intelligence BECAUSE our ancestors ate meat... (and we DO see an increase of intelligence in predatorial animals!)
